October '22's curated collection of creativity and inspiring work that caught my attention and influenced my work including notable colours, fonts, music, words and artists.

Colour inspo

October feels equally as comforting as it does creepy. It’s that contrast between eery halloween decorations and the decay of leaves with cozy warm lattes and home cooked meals. It’s a mood. The darker palette reflects the longer nights that come with the change of season and the warmer tones are reminiscent of comfort food and company.

Pin of the month

Pin of the month goes to this simple graphic illustration done by Kinsey H. Designs. I am a sucker for a neutral + warm colour palette (as you can see in my personal branding) and this illustration brings a feeling of travel with a retro-roadtrip vibe. It’s my cup of tea.

Inspiring words

This month’s inspiring words and uplifting insight are from Yung Pueblo.

You need to do more than just eat nourishing food, exercise, and rest to feel your best. You also need to be around good people, spend time healing your emotional history, live in alignment with your values, say no to people pleasing, stay open to growth, and deeply embrace change.

Artist shoutout

This month’s creative shoutout goes to Ale Vidal, a film director that creates beautiful, artful and moody films that feed your eyes and allow you experience a story through an intimate and classic aesthetic. Her work makes you feel like you have been transported into a period piece set in old Europe. With stunning lighting and cinematography she creates an atmosphere that is both captivating and striking.
